Take flight with The Bluebird, a wordless journey of dreams and dreamers. Created and performed by Buba Basishvili, this production is inspired by Charles Bukowski's evocative poem The Bluebird, Buba's own immigration story, and the experiences of countless others who have left their homes in flight to other lands. Weaving pantomime, visual metaphor and physical comedy, the show transcends linguistic barriers to deliver a poignant narrative of the immigrant experience.
The piece features original music by the avant-garde duo Homospouses (Lika Shubitidze and Archil Gegechkori), who have roots in Georgia and Colorado.
“There’s a bluebird in my heart that wants to get out…I only let him out at night sometimes, when everybody’s asleep.” - Charles Bukowski
